You will be amazed at the different number concepts that can be developed using a variety of number boards. Students begin in the early years by matching numbers on the board and identifying numbers that come before, after, and between other numbers. They can perform simple calculations using the boards, identify odd, even, prime, and composite numbers, and engage in patterning and early algebraic thinking.
All you need is a number grid and some counters or whiteboard number grids and your lesson will be up and running. Students can record their findings on a paper grid for assessment purposes.
