Numeracy Clinic FAQ

What does a session typically look like?

During the first session, a placement test is completed to decide where to start child's name in the program. The remaining 11 sessions will focus on building foundational number sense and mathematical concepts child's name requires more support with based on his/her placement test.

How long will the sessions run for?

Each session runs for 45 minutes over a 12-week block (including school holidays).

Where are the sessions?

Sessions can either be held at our 2/259 Glen Osmond Road Frewville location or Shop 8/ 715 South Road, Black Forest location.

What happens if we miss or we are unable to attend a session?

A maximum of one (1) rescheduled appointment per block of appointments is permitted. Please note that payment is still required for the rescheduled appointment. The rescheduled appointment will occur not later than one week after the end of the twelve (12) week block. On the day of the rescheduled appointment no fee will be required. Any additional missed appointments will remain billable and will depend on the practitioner’s availability if they are able to book in a make-up session.

What happens at the end of my 12-week block?

Towards the end of your 12-week block, the practitioner will have a discussion with you to work out whether another block is required. If so, an online renewal notice will be sent to you to fill out. The renewal notice needs to be signed and sent back as soon as possible to secure a spot for another 12-week block.

What are the expectations around homework?

Homework is designed to consolidate the skills taught during the clinic sessions. This usually involves 5-10 minutes practice up to 5 times per week. Students who complete homework will have increased progression within the program. You will receive a Bond Block kit in your first session once the practitioner can identify which resource is best for you.

When do I pay for the session?

The lesson fees are due the day of each session.

How much does a 12-week block cost?

Each lesson is $110 per session.  Any homework materials required will be at an additional cost.

If you are a SPELD SA member, this will entitle you to receive 5% discount per session as well as 5% discount for essential homework books/materials (excluding bursary families and pre-pay of block).

Can I pay for the 12-week block up front?

Yes, you can! SPELD SA offers a 5% discount for families (excluding bursary families) who choose to pre-pay their block of 12 sessions at the beginning of the block. If you choose this option, the block will cost $1,254 (saving of $66).
