Educational Consultation: What to Expect

A 45-minute consultation with an experienced SPELD SA educator to talk through your child’s learning concerns and discuss practical next steps. This consultation is suitable for families who would like advice about literacy or numeracy difficulties, intervention, school support or whether further screening or assessment may be helpful.

During the 45-minute consultation, you can:

• discuss your child’s learning concerns, school history and any intervention or support they have received
• bring along previous school, psychology, speech pathology or other assessment reports for discussion
• talk through strategies and supports that may be helpful at school and at home
• discuss appropriate intervention options
• consider whether further screening, assessment or referral to another professional may be helpful

Parents and carers can attend with or without their child.
