Phonological Awareness

Enhancing Phonological Awareness with David Kilpatrick’s ‘Equipped for Reading Success’ program

2 Sessions, 1.5 Hours Each

Join us for two hands-on sessions on Kilpatrick’s structured program for primary students with phonological processing weaknesses. In the first session, you'll learn to administer and score the Phonological Awareness Screening Test (PAST).

Second session will focus on using PAST results to guide your intervention approach, with opportunities for practice and free resources provided.

In this one-hour workshop, explore how executive functioning issues affect the writing process for students with ADHD, Autism, and other learning disorders. Explore two cost-effective programs for whole-class or targeted intervention, along with a case study of a Grade 2 student who benefited from support. Intervention for Dyslexia

Effective Interventions for Dyslexia and Reading Disorders

Join us for a science-backed workshop focused on improving reading interventions for students with Dyslexia and other reading disorders. Learn to leverage assessment data to select effective interventions, evaluate various programs, and discover free resources to enhance your strategies. Ideal for leadership and intervention support staff working with R-10 students, this session will empower you to audit and improve your current reading intervention approach.

Decodable Readers

Everything you Need to Know about Decodable Readers

This workshop provides information about what decodable readers are, and where/how they fit into reading instruction and reading intervention programs.

You will have the opportunity to look at and discuss the pros and cons of a range of decodable readers, including free and on-line options. You’ll be guided through factors to consider when selecting decodable readers for your setting, and will take part in some hands on instructional activities that incorporate decodables.

This engaging session showcases high-quality (and mostly free) software designed to help students with Specific Learning Disorders succeed in the classroom.

Learn how to select the most suitable adjustments for each student and discover a practical checklist of administrative tasks your school can implement to ensure smooth adoption of these technologies. The workshop includes live software demonstrations and is ideal for teachers, SSOs, and leadership staff working with students in Grades 3 to 12.
