Academic Skills Assessments
An Academic Skills Assessment will help identify individual learning strengths and weaknesses to understand your child’s literacy and/or numeracy development, and their support needs.
Conducted by an experienced Special Education teacher.
- Assesses a student’s skill development and performance across literacy and/or numeracy
- Provides recommendations and strategies that can be used by schools, parents and tutors to support the student in their education.
On completion of the assessment, the Special Education teacher will meet with you to explain the results and answer your questions. You will be provided with a report that outlines which areas the school and/or tutor should target along with recommended strategies and resources to support them.
An Academic Skills Assessment will not provide a diagnosis of a specific learning difficulty (Dyslexia, Dyscalculia and Dysgraphia). Only a psychologist can provide this diagnosis.
