    This workshop has been specifically designed for teachers and tutors who are keen to improve their knowledge and skills in providing effective numeracy intervention for children with maths related difficulties and disorders.

    This workshop will equip attendees with:

    • A better understanding of the defining features of maths difficulties and dyscalculia
    • Key components of the science of mathematics and the pillars of maths instruction,
    • How to implement explicit and effective tier 1 maths teaching,
    • How to effectively respond to maths difficulties at a tier 2 or tier 3 level.

    This workshop is presented by Ali Ellis, a Numeracy Consultant who has a wealth of experience in teaching mathematics. Having completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Special Educational Needs Co-ordination, she was deeply involved in research-based practices to better understand and address the impacts of dyscalculia on student learning. 

    This training is suitable for:

    • All educators supporting students with numeracy difficulties in Kindy - Year 6
    • Suitable for educators supporting students in secondary school with poor foundational knowledge in numeracy (pre-requisite skills for algebra)
